Staver Accident Injury Lawyers, P.C. is excited to announce Kelsey Adler as our 2022 scholarship winner!
Kelsey was selected from a competitive pool of applicants to receive our annual $5,000 scholarship and will be attending the University of New Mexico to pursue a career in Physics and Medicine.
In addition to participating in a prestigious internship at Sandia National Labs, where she is researching plasma physics, Kelsey plans to study the various topics at the intersection of Physics and Medicine. Through Kelsey’s impressive academic achievements, volunteer work, extracurricular activities, and essay, she has shown to be passionate about making a difference in others’ lives. She also demonstrated a keen understanding of personal injury lawyers’ role in calling out risks and advocating for change to make communities safer.
Now in its Seventh year, Staver Accident Injury Lawyers, P.C. has awarded a scholarship to a current college or a high school student who has been accepted into an accredited college or university in the U.S.
The student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, demonstrate good character and strong motivation in the face of challenges, and show an understanding and appreciation for the firm’s work. Each applicant is asked to provide a brief essay that explores the role of personal injury lawyers in safety initiatives and how individuals can promote personal and community safety each day.
As a first-generation student, Kelsey overcame several obstacles, including a learning disability she developed after suffering carbon monoxide due to a defective product. Aided by a personal injury settlement that allowed her family to get the care she required, Kelsey has since graduated from college, attained her MD from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, and plans on continuing her career in Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science.
