The Illinois Department of Transportation keeps an snapshot of fatal crash statistics that updates frequently. As of August 3, 2020, there were 56 fatal accidents involving semi-trucks in the state of Illinois.
So far, the total number of fatal accidents is down by 22 compared to the same time in 2019. There have been 491 total crashes with 533 fatalities in those crashes.
