Jaskiret was selected from an extensive pool of candidates to receive the annual $5,000 Staver scholarship award. He plans on attending Columbia Law School to pursue a Juris Doctor degree and becoming a trial lawyer specializing in criminal defense. Jaskiret hopes to use his legal training and advocacy to return to his local community to help fill the gap in legal representation by taking on pro bono work.
Throughout his life, Jaskiret volunteered with various organizations that aimed to help different communities throughout California. He also worked with a variety of political campaigns.
Jaskiret’s application displayed his compassion for those less fortunate than others and showed his commitment to making life better for everyone. He explained how the work that personal injury attorneys have done have personally affected his life and how their accomplishments can change entire industries.
For nine years and counting, the attorneys at Staver have supported aspiring scholars with an annual scholarship. Winners receive a $5,000 award. Applicants are carefully selected from a competitive group. Each applicant provides a brief essay that explores the impact of personal injury lawyers and how to promote safety initiatives every day.
To be eligible, an applicant must be a current college or a high school student who has been accepted into an accredited college or university in the U.S. They must also have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, demonstrate good character and strong motivation in the face of challenges, and show an understanding and appreciation for the firm’s work.
Staver Accident Injury Lawyers, P.C. strives to relieve some of the financial burdens of attending university with our annual $5,000 scholarship. This year, we are proud to support Jaskiret Rai in his endeavor to promote public safety as a criminal defense lawyer.
